Baseball Recap: Shelton Triumphs

Shelton barely beat Black Hills the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Highclimbers never let the Wolves get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Monday. The Highclimbers haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Boston Madison made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Madison was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jax Ward was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Cam Winans also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Shelton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Shelton's record is now 8-10. As for Black Hills, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wolves beat Shelton by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.
