LOMPOC, Calif. -
Lompoc (Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat Pioneer Valley (Santa Maria, Calif.), 33-0, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, the Braves were up 13-0 at the half.
Lompoc expanded its lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter. LHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Derrick Portis touchdown run.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Braves came away with a 24-17 victory.
The loss comes after Pioneer Valley defeated Templeton 44-0 last week. The win was a nice bounce back for Lompoc, which lost to Frontier last week, 28-16.
In a non-conference game next week Lompoc (2-1) takes on Dos Pueblos, and Pioneer Valley (1-2) will go up against Santa Maria also in a non-conference game.
