Baseball Recap: Shelbyville Has No Trouble Against Colmesneil

Shelbyville was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Colmesneil on Saturday. The Shelbyville Dragons were the clear victor by an 18-2 margin over the Colmesneil Bulldogs. This was payback for the Dragons, who suffered a 6-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ashton Scarborough made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those a hit gave him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Hunter Harvey was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Gaylon Harrison was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

Shelbyville now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Colmesneil, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Shelbyville has already played their next matchup, a 0-0 draw against Corrigan-Camden on the 22nd. As for Colmesneil, they are taking a road trip to square off against Chester at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
