Wayne Preparatory Academy waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 53-52 win over the Word of God Christian Academy Holy Rams. This was a revenge game for the Generals: when they faced off against the Holy Rams back in November of 2024, they had to take a 44-37 loss.

Several Holy Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christa Greene, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Quaranna Blackwell, who earned 12 points.

Wayne Preparatory Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. As for Word of God Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne Preparatory Academy will take on NC GBB Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Word of God Christian Academy, they will face off against New Life Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
