Volleyball Recap: Laurens Academy Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Newberry Academy on Tuesday, Laurens Academy came back down to earth. The Crusaders fell just short of the Cambridge Academy Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Laurens Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Cambridge Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 20-25, 15-13.

Laurens Academy's loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-3. As for Cambridge Academy, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laurens Academy will square off against Oakbrook Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cambridge Academy, they will welcome Ninety Six at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
