Preview: Iowa Colony Pioneers vs. Columbia Roughnecks
The Iowa Colony Pioneers will head out on the road to take on the Columbia Roughnecks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Iowa Colony focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
Iowa Colony unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak. They took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stafford. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Iowa Colony in their matchups with Stafford: they've now lost three in a row.
Iowa Colony's loss came about despite a quality game from BJ Gill, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Daylen Dalcour, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Columbia came up short against Brazosport on Tuesday and fell 57-47. Columbia has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Iowa Colony's record is now 12-14. As for Columbia, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
Iowa Colony was able to grind out a solid victory over Columbia when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 43-32. Does Iowa Colony have another victory up their sleeve, or will Columbia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
