Volleyball Recap: Jayda Hyde and Marlowe Weaver Secure Win for Leo

Leo had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the East Noble Knights. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Knights back in August, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Leo had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-22.

Leo was led to victory by Marlowe Weaver and Jayda Hyde. Weaver had 22 digs and three assists, while Hyde had 15 assists and four digs. With that strong performance, Weaver is now averaging an impressive 10.3 digs per game.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kylie Walz, who had 17 digs and two aces. Walz has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 22 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Desper, who had 14 assists and 11 digs.

Leo's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for East Noble, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9.

Leo has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Huntington North on the 2nd. As for East Noble, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Fort Wayne Snider on the 1st.
