Jayce Cora and Anthony Deibis-Silverstein secure win for Lely

Recap: Lely Trojans vs. Dunbar Tigers

The Lely Trojans had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Dunbar with a sharp 53-31 victory on Monday. The win was just what Lely needed coming off of a 98-45 loss in their prior contest.

Lely was led to victory by Jayce Cora and Anthony Deibis-Silverstein. Cora scored nine points along with 16 rebounds and six blocks, while Deibis-Silverstein went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 3 assists. That's the first time this season that Deibis-Silverstein scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Michael Distel, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Lely's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Dunbar, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Lely's road trip will continue as they head out to face Evangelical Christian at 1:00 p.m. on January 2nd. Dunbar will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lehigh at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th.
