Basketball Recap: Riverdale Takes a Loss

Riverdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls and fell 49-9. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-6.

Angie Torres was Riverdale's leading scorer, having posted four points. Bonner Destiny held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Riverdale's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for LaBelle, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverdale will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Fort Myers at 12:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. As for LaBelle, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Moore Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Moore Haven is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.
