Football Recap: Morro Bay Pirates vs. Atascadero Greyhounds

After flying high against Santa Maria last Friday, Morro Bay came back down to earth. The Pirates took a 43-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Atascadero Greyhounds on Friday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Morro Bay still got an impressive performance from Sands Dougherty, who threw for 369 yards and four TDs while completing 75.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown. A healthy portion of Dougherty's aerial production (144 yards to be exact) went to Anthony Campanario, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.
