Softball Recap: Central York Drops Highest Score of Season Against Northeastern

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central York). Everything went their way against the Northeastern Bobcats on Wednesday as they made off with a 21-3 win. The Panthers have beaten the Bobcats the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bobcats has come to flipping the script.

The team relied heavily on Brooklyn Shaffer, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Weigle, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Central York kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Central York's record is now 15-3. As for Northeastern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.

Central York does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northeastern, they will face off against Mechanicsburg at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
