There's no place like home for Preston, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past the Philip Barbour Colts 12-2 on Friday. Considering the Knights' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Lukas McVicker tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Preston let Cooper Thaler and Bryson McNew run wild. Thaler went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while McNew went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI McNew has posted since back in April of 2024. Slaton Manko was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The victory snapped Preston's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-5 record. As for Philip Barbour, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-2.

Coming up, Preston will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Philip Barbour, they will square off against Pendleton County at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. The Wildcat have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.82 runs per game on average), something the Colts will no doubt try to take advantage of.
