Basketball Game Preview: Lyman Greyhounds vs. East Ridge Knights

The Lyman Greyhounds will venture away from home to square off against the East Ridge Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lyman has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with eight straight losses, while East Ridge will come in with four straight wins.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 38-7, which was the final score in Lyman's tilt against Master's Academy on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 607th, while the Eagles are ranked 274th).

Samara Oldham was Lyman's leading scorer, having posted four points.

Meanwhile, East Ridge posted their biggest victory since February 5, 2024 on Wednesday. They put the hurt on South Sumter with a sharp 36-13 win.

East Ridge pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.8 points per game. As for Lyman, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-18.

Lyman might still be hurting after the 43-21 loss they got from East Ridge in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can Lyman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
