Preview: Bronson Vikings vs. Portage Northern Huskies
The Bronson Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Portage Northern Huskies at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of three wins, Bronson's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell to Colon 49-44.
Despite their loss, Bronson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Payton Springstead, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Brealyn Lasky was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, sadly, Portage Northern is still looking for their first win of the season after 15 matches. They had to suffer through a rough 59-25 loss at the hands of Kalamazoo Central. While losing is never fun, Portage Northern can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 537th, while Kalamazoo Central is ranked 191st).
Bronson's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Portage Northern, they dropped their record down to 0-15 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
