Baseball Recap: Loyalton Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Loyalton waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Tulelake Honkers as they made off with an 11-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Grizzlies also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Loyalton let Ryland Martinetti and Preston Hubbs run wild. Martinetti went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Hubbs went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits Hubbs has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Apolonio Lopez, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Loyalton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tulelake only posted a batting average of .000.

Loyalton's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Tulelake, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Loyalton beat the Honkers by a score of 13-1 later that day.
