It was a good run, but Holy Cross unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Conner Cougars, falling 5-2. While losing is never fun, Holy Cross can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky soccer rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Conner are ranked 16th).

Stella Schaffeld and Morgan Macdonald scored both of Holy Cross' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Holy Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 7-6-1. As for Conner, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will venture away from home to challenge Grant County at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Conner, they will square off against Cooper at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
