Basketball Game Preview: Balboa Buccaneers vs. Wallenberg Bulldogs

The Balboa Buccaneers will venture away from home to challenge the Wallenberg Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Balboa is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, Balboa lost to Lowell at home by a 58-41 margin. The Buccaneers were down 51-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

The losing side was boosted by Lorenzo Manna, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 12 points. Donovan DeSousa was another key player, putting up six points along with five boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Wallenberg took a blow against Washington on Friday, falling 87-39. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost nine in a row.

Balboa's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Wallenberg, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-10.

Balboa couldn't quite finish off Wallenberg in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 54-51. Can Balboa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
