Baseball Recap: Edison Comes Up Short

After flying high against Martins Ferry last Saturday, Edison came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell just short of the Minerva Lions by a score of 4-2 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since April 1, 2024.

Edison moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Minerva, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edison will venture away from home to face off against Weir at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Minerva, they will head out to take on Salem at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Quakers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.43 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
