Basketball Recap: Friends Academy's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Friends Academy was the 58-50 winner over Malverne when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Friends Academy Quakers fell 63-56 to the Malverne Mules on Thursday.

Despite the loss, Friends Academy still got an impressive performance from Eyan Valadez, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten assists. Valadez has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase O'Brien, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards.

Even though they lost, Friends Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since the start of last season.

Friends Academy's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-2.

Friends Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-27 win against Lawrence on the 14th. As for Malverne, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Freeport at 7:00 p.m. on December 23rd.
