Basketball Game Preview: Lockwood Tigers vs. Pierce City Eagles

After both having extra time off, the Lockwood Tigers and the Pierce City Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Lockwood's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Pierce City has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Lockwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Verona, posting a 74-37 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 34 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Pierce City was just a bucket shy of victory last Friday and fell 54-53 to Hollister.

Pierce City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Lockwood, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Lockwood beat Pierce City 46-38 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will Lockwood repeat their success, or does Pierce City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
