Basketball Game Preview: Mapleton Sailors vs. Mohawk Mustangs

Mapleton is 1-9 against Mohawk since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Mapleton Sailors will look to defend their home court against the Mohawk Mustangs at 7:00 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 54-13, which was the final score in Mapleton's tilt against Reedsport on Monday. The contest marked the Sailors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Mohawk had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 49-26 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 23 points or more this season.

Mohawk is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points per game. As for Mapleton, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
