Basketball Recap: Manvel Takes a Loss

Manvel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 66-59 to the Alvin Yellowjackets. The Mavericks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

Manvel's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Alvin, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Manvel and Alvin will both be playing Dawson the next time they take the court. The Yellowjackets will head out to face the Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Mavericks will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
