Softball Recap: Carbondale Area Takes a Loss

Carbondale Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dunmore Bucks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 5-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Riley Pietrowski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up 14 Ks.

Carbondale Area's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Carbondale Area will face off against Lakeland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dunmore, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on West Scranton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
