Baseball Game Preview: Toppenish Wildcats vs. Othello Huskies

Toppenish hasn't had much luck against Othello recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the Huskies at 11:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Grandview hit Toppenish with a seven-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats fell just short of the Greyhounds by a score of 7-6.

Meanwhile, Othello faced Selah in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Huskies fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 3-2. The Huskies' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Othello saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kal-El Ozuna, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Ozuna has hit this season.

Othello's defeat dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Toppenish, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Toppenish might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Othello in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
