Football Recap: Irene/Wakonda Takes a Loss

Irene/Wakonda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 52-14 loss at the hands of the Gayville-Volin Raiders. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Irene/Wakonda's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Gayville-Volin, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Irene/Wakonda will take on rival Centerville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Gayville-Volin is set to challenge their familiar foe Alcester-Hudson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
