Softball Recap: Chapel Hill Comes Up Short

Chapel Hill lost against Linden-Kildare back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Chapel Hill Red Devils took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Linden-Kildare Tigers. That's two games in a row now that the Red Devils have lost by exactly five runs.

Molly Brady made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Chapel Hill's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-4. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs over those games. As for Linden-Kildare, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Coming up, Chapel Hill will host Overton at 11:45 a.m. on Friday. Overton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Chapel Hill's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Linden-Kildare, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers challenge the Lions at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
