Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Edinburg

Edinburg had won two straight games and Yuri Perez did her part to make it three on Friday. The Edinburg Bobcats really took it to the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-29 victory thanks in part to Perez, who went 14 of 26 on her way to 31 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Edinburg's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Gizelle Hernandez, who posted five points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

Edinburg has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-12 record this season. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edinburg will take on La Joya at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, they will host Economedes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
