Baseball Game Preview: Knippa Crushers vs. Benavides Eagles

For the second straight game, Knippa will face off against Benavides. The Crushers will square off against the Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Knippa is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Knippa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Benavides by a score of 8-3. The victory continues a trend for the Crushers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Cameron S made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Joaquin G was excellent, earning three runs and two stolen bases. He is becoming a predictor of Knippa's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 5-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Aj A, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Knippa's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Benavides, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-5.
