Baseball Recap: La Joya Community Takes a Loss

La Joya Community lost against Maryvale back in April of 2015, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Fighting Lobos fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 9-8.

La Joya Community saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominik Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Samuel Acuna was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

La Joya Community's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Maryvale, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Joya Community will take on Mohave at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Fighting Lobos' favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home while the Thunderbirds have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road. As for Maryvale, they will face off against Marcos de Niza at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Padres have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
