Volleyball Game Preview: Joliet J Hawks vs. Columbus Cougars

The Joliet J Hawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Columbus Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses dating back to last season for Joliet and six for Columbus dating back to last season.

On Saturday, Joliet came up short against Red Lodge and fell 2-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-13.

Columbus had taken Red Lodge down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams.

Columbus actually scored more points across those four sets (90-86), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-23, 11-25, 25-22, 25-20.

Columbus' defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Joliet, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Joliet might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Columbus when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the J Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
