Softball Recap: Biggs' Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Biggs had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Maxwell Panthers as they made off with a 15-4 victory. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Arden Vines and Riley Harrison made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Vines tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Harrison struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Vines has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Vines got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Harrison went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Emma Bermudez and Allie Little did most of the damage at the plate: Bermudez went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Little went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Mailey Seipert was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one triple and one run.

Biggs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in four consecutive games.

Biggs pushed their record up to 22-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Maxwell, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-21.

As of now, neither Biggs nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
