Basketball Recap: Covenant Day Find Success

Covenant Day won the last time they faced Charlotte Christian, and Avery Houseton did her part to make sure it happened again. The Covenant Day Lions simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Charlotte Christian Knights 56-26 thanks in part to Houseton, who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 14 rebounds, and nine steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Kaitlyn Allen was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

Covenant Day's victory bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Charlotte Christian, they dropped their record down to 2-18 with the loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Covenant Day won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Charlotte Country Day School at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Charlotte Country Day School is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.8 points per game this season. As for Charlotte Christian, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Cannon at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
