After a string of four wins, Truman's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Platte County Pirates by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Patriots have suffered since April 4th.

Truman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Ottens, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Ottens is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Truman's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Platte County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Truman will challenge Park Hill South at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Platte County, they will host Kearney at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
