Basketball Recap: Vernon Hills Finds Playoff Glory Versus Fenton

With a playoff win on the line, Vernon Hills rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They strolled past the Fenton Bison with points to spare, taking the game 43-29. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Despite the defeat, Fenton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Armany Sutton posted 17 points. Sutton is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Vernon Hills' victory bumped their record up to 17-14. As for Fenton, they dropped their record down to 16-15 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Vernon Hills will face off against Antioch at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fenton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
