Softball Recap: Hector Wins Going Away Against Sacred Heart

Hector made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sacred Heart, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hector Wildcats blew past the Sacred Heart Rebels 14-3 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 13-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Sarena Myers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Myers was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two triples, and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Megan Goates, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cassie Millsaps, who scored a run while going 4-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Hector and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hector will welcome Mountainburg at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sacred Heart, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Scranton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
