 Bishop O'Dowd was the  9-5 winner over Piedmont when they last played one another  last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Bishop O'Dowd Dragons fell just short of the Piedmont Highlanders by a score of  4-2 on Friday.
 Bishop O'Dowd got a good showing from  Ryan Schuh, who   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Schuh has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Cole Jones was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 On Piedmont's side,  Seve Sanchez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two  runs (both of which were unearned)  on four hits and racked up ten Ks. It was the first time this season that  Sanchez  tossed five or more  strikeouts.
 On the hitting side,  Markos Lagios was  incredible,  firing off two  home runs and three  RBI while going 2-for-4.
 Bishop O'Dowd has  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8-1 record  this season. As for Piedmont, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
 Bishop O'Dowd will be playing at home against Alameda at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Piedmont, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  12-2  defeat vs. Saint Mary's on the 27th.
