Seven must be Moody's lucky number: they beat Carver Birmingham with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Blue Devils didn't even let the Rams on the board, marking the Blue Devils' second-straight 7-0 shutout. Considering the Blue Devils have won 15 matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Beauregard has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.72 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against Elmore County, falling 13-3. The Hornets' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Moody's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Beauregard, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 19-6.
