Basketball Game Preview: Huntingdon Bearcats vs. Bishop Carroll Huskies

The Huntingdon Bearcats will venture away from home to face off against the Bishop Carroll Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Huntingdon will head into Wednesday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Mount Union on Wednesday. Huntingdon was the clear victor by a 61-41 margin over Mount Union. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bearcats have posted against the Trojans since January 6, 2020.

Meanwhile, Bishop Carroll had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Somerset by a score of 64-56 on Wednesday.

Huntingdon better keep an eye on Jace Casses. He was instrumental in Bishop Carroll's win, going 9 for 18 on his way to 22 points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Phillips, who went 7 of 10 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Bishop Carroll's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8. As for Huntingdon, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Huntingdon suffered a grim 74-53 defeat to Bishop Carroll when the teams last played back in February of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Casses, who went 14 for 21 on his way to 32 points in addition to seven boards and five steals.
