Softball Preview: Cheboygan Chiefs vs. Sault Area Blue Devils

Cheboygan has gone a perfect 3-0 against Sault Area recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Chiefs will head out to challenge the Blue Devils at 4:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Cheboygan put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. Everything went their way against Harbor Springs as they made off with a 16-1 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Jenna Dodder was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Diem Schley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Sault Area made easy work of St. Ignace on Monday and carried off a 21-7 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Everything went Cheboygan's way against Sault Area when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Cheboygan made off with a 10-0 win.
