Baseball Recap: Stigler's Undefeated Season over After 15 Games

Stigler managed to slip by Hilldale the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers came up short against the Hornets on Monday, falling 8-2. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Stigler saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was C Eakle, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI. Latch Smith was another, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Stigler fell to 14-1. As for Hilldale, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.

While Stigler had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
