Softball Recap: South Lyon East Triumphs

South Lyon East got themselves on the board against Pinckney on Tuesday, but Pinckney never followed suit. They skirted past the Pirates 2-0. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Pirates on Tuesday, they had to take a 9-4 loss.

Paulina Ankawi (2025) made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had over her last five contests. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

South Lyon East's victory bumped their record up to 17-19. As for Pinckney, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-12-1.

South Lyon East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pinckney, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Monroe at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
