Football Recap: Escambia Gators vs. Mosley Dolphins
Escambia was the 35-28 winner over Mosley when they last played one another back in October of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Escambia Gators lost 38-13 to the Mosley Dolphins on Friday.
Escambia wouldn't let Mosley keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Tae Gaston, Maximus Ridgley, and Laterrion Union picked up one apiece.
Sammy Freitas was his usual excellent self, throwing for 198 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 60 yards and a touchdown for Mosley. Another player making a difference was Fletcher Taylor, who picked up 104 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Escambia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mosley, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Escambia will venture away from home to face off against Booker T. Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Booker T. Washington will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Escambia surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mosley, they will head out to square off against Milton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mosley is facing Milton at the right time seeing as Milton is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
