Volleyball Recap: Shell Lake Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Shell Lake walked away with it. They won by a set and slipped past the Boyceville Bulldogs 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lakers have posted since September 27th.

Shell Lake was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 14-25, 22-25, 25-17, 15-9.

Ella Marker was nothing short of spectacular: she had eight digs and three aces. Those eight digs gave her a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Shell Lake was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are 7-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Despite the loss, Boyceville still got an impressive performance from Mercedes Barstad, who had 12 digs and two assists.

Shell Lake's record is now 12-16. As for Boyceville, their loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 13-10.

Shell Lake has already played their next matchup (against Webster), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Boyceville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
