            Baseball Preview: Campolindo Cougars vs. Benicia Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            The Campolindo Cougars will square off against the Benicia Panthers at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (Campolindo 3.8, Benicia 3.8) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
Campolindo proved they can win big  on Tuesday (they won by 11) and  on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-5  victory over Vacaville. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Cougars have posted  since March 22nd.
 Evan Kelly looked comfortable as he  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  strikeouts (five).

 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Luke McLeod, who  went 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases and two  runs. Those  two  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Jonathan Wang, who  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  run.
Meanwhile, Benicia came up short against Junipero Serra on Thursday and fell  9-4.
  Nash Rubins and  Peyton Rowles did some serious damage despite the final result:  Rubins  went 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases and one  RBI, while  Rowles  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Benicia's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Campolindo, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
 Campolindo came out on top in a nail-biter against Benicia when the teams last played  back in April of 2024, sneaking past  6-5. Do  the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
