Football Recap: Marvin Ridge Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

Marvin Ridge and Weddington squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Marvin Ridge had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 63-0 loss at the hands of the Warriors. Having soared to a lofty 52 points in the game before, the Mavericks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

While passing duties were split, you can't argue with the impact Walker Powell and Paxton Ladner both made on the contest. Powell threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes while Ladner rushed for 11 yards and one TD. What's more, Powell posted three rushing yards, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Marvin Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Weddington, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

Marvin Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Weddington, they will host Lake Norman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
