Baseball Recap: Akron's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Akron dropped their record down to 3-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They lost 10-0 to the Medina Mustangs. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Akron saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Collin Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

As for Medina, the win keeps they at an undefeated 8-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average this season.

On Medina's side, Aidan Papaj was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Papaj is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Hadrian Batista was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

While Akron had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
