Baseball Recap: Northern Guilford Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Northern Guilford's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grimsley Whirlies on Friday. The Nighthawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

John Yarnovich was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Northern Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Grimsley, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Northern Guilford wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-3 victory against Southeast Guilford on the 29th. As for Grimsley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 21-5 win against Western Guilford on the 29th.
