Softball Recap: Hancock Takes a Loss

Hancock scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Reavis Rams, falling 19-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 7-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Maddie DeJesus made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. That hit was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Dougherty, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Hancock is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. As for Reavis, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hancock will head out to take on Northside at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Reavis, they will venture away from home to challenge Romeoville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Reavis is facing Romeoville at the right time seeing as Romeoville is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
