Soccer Game Preview: Midtown vs. Decatur

The Midtown Knights will challenge the Decatur Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Midtown is headed into Thursday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They fell 3-1 to North Atlanta on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that Midtown have lost by exactly two goals.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Decatur and St. Pius X Catholic, and Decatur kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Golden Lions by a score of 4-2 on Monday.

Decatur is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those five matches. As for Midtown, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Everything went Midtown's way against Decatur in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Midtown made off with a 5-0 victory. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
