Basketball Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lexington can now relate to. They took a 70-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tanner Rattlers. The Golden Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rattlers earlier this season, when they won 66-47.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tanner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaden Freeman, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 22 points. Freeman is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Elyjah Jones, who went 6 of 11 en route to 19 points and eight boards.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Tanner, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-13.

Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tanner, they will challenge Decatur Heritage Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Decatur Heritage Christian Academy will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Tanner surely won't give up without a fight.
